Personal Investment Surveys
Over €29.4 billion was invested by Irish private investors in investment funds on the Irish market in 2006. The growth in the personal investment market has been driven by :
Continuing economic growth
Increasing disposable income
Recognition that investment funds offer a range of advantages including strong returns, diversification and tax simplicity
The 2006 survey includes, for the first time, the impact of maturing SSIA's.
The surveys below (which you can download) show the findings of the annual IAIM Retail Investment Survey which began in January 1999.
It covers all investments managed by IAIM members for private investors including unit linked funds, with profit funds, unit trusts, tracker bonds and Special Savings Investment Accounts (SSIAs).
A commentary on the 2006 survey results can be found in the Press Releases section.
