Enda McMahon is CEO of BlackRock Asset Management in Ireland Limited and Head of International Product Oversight and Governance for BlackRock. He was previously based in London, where he was responsible for managing the Group’s EMEA Compliance Department. Enda joined BlackRock in December 2013 from State Street Global Advisors (now renamed State Street Investment Management), where he was EMEA Head of Compliance Prior to that he was Global Chief Compliance Officer for Bank of Ireland Asset Management and a Regulatory Inspection Leader with the Central Bank of Ireland.
He has over 30 years of relevant experience overall having also worked professionally as an Auditor with the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General and as an Accountant with Eagle Star. He is very active at industry level and is current Chair of the Irish Funds and Asset Management Steering Group (previously known as the IFSC Funds Group), which was established by the Department of An Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) to consider and advise on legislative and other changes which are necessary or desirable to facilitate the continued growth of the Irish investment funds industry. A member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Enda also holds the CGMA designation. His studies also include the exams of the Master of Science in Investment and Treasury in Dublin City University Business School and Law in the Honourable Society of King's Inns.
